Future Leaders selction is a multi staged competency based process, which involves an assessment centre and lesson observation. We are proud of the quality of candidates recruited in previous years, and following in-depth evaluation of recruitment each year, the process is continuously improved.
We continue to use a competency based approach, looking for 13 competencies:
THINKING:
Analytical Thinking
Conceptual Thinking
Curiosity and Eagerness to Learn
BEING:
Self Awareness
Resilience and Emotional Maturity
Integrity
Personal Drive
LEADING:
Holding to Account
Developing Others
Inspiring Others
Impact and Influence
Relating to Others
Collaboration
Applications are made online, and candidates complete a 500 word essay which is scored against the above competencies, in addition to providing work history information and references. New from this year's applications, candidates are asked to complete a series of online ability tests to assess their numerical, verbal and logical thinking.
Applicants who perform well at the online stage are invited to attend an assessment centre, comprising of a mix of challenging individual and group activities, also assessed against the competencies.
Successful candidates will then go through one final stage- the lesson observation, as we believe that it’s essential for their credibility that all Future Leaders are good or outstanding teachers.
